Chai is a flavored tea popular in India and other parts of Asia. Some of the most commonly used flavorings are Ginger,Cardamom, Fennel Seeds, Tulsi, and Cinnamon.
Since the health benefits of tea is in the news lately, we should take a closer look at GABA tea, one of the "secrets" of the tea world. This little-known type of tea is specially processed to increase the levels of GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid) - an important amino acid responsible for inhibiting neuron activity in the brain. GABA is used as a natural tranquilizer, and apparantly has many health benefits.
English tea is usually blended black tea served with milk and sugar. There are several blends of English tea including Earl Grey, Irish Breakfast, and English Breakfast. Indian teas are most often used to make English tea blends.
Thai tea is a mixture of black tea, anise, food colorings, sugar and milk. It is usually served chilled (Thai iced tea) although a variation is Thai hot tea that is commonly served in the morning.
