Grassy Tea 4 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 1
I had been wanting to try real green tea and Matcha for a while. ( I just found out it was called Matcha). So a search led me to O-Cha and I bought some Usucha and some Daily Sencha. Is it me or is the tea supposed to taste like grass. I had had some green tea in tea bags before and just didn't expect it to taste like this. Is there a type that doesn't taste so...grassy? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

A grassy-like aroma is one of the characteristics of many fine green teas. The second infusion won't have that aroma nearly as much, did you re-infuse it a second time?

If the grassy taste is not to your liking, you can try gyokuro which has a different profile. It's trickier to brew and is quite a bit more expensive however.
