What is green tea? What exactly is the difference between green tea, and the comfortable black tea we are used to? Theyboth are teas right?? But I want to know the difference between them.

Black and green tea both come from the same plant, which goes by the Latin name of Camellia sinensis. Their antioxidant effects have been noted in various studies. The difference between the two drinks is that black tea has been fermented, resulting in a change in taste and appearance.

That is probably why balck tea is stronger than green one.. Green tea is quiet light and refreshing in taste...

Exactly..!!! If you've had the opportunity to drink lemon grass tea....You'll find that it is also light and refreshing in taste just like green one.

Thus the fermentation process in some way effect the antioxidant properties of the tea? I was of the opinion that the difference between teas is due to their antioxidant properties.

Fermentation and rosting process of the tea is what makes the difference between both the teas...
