What's better to use as a sweetener in tea - stevia or honey? And what kind of honey should it be?

I hope your not using honey in your oolong King Oolong

Stevia is a better choice if you want to compare with honey.

Honey has a lot of rapid sugars, the chemistry of honey is also very special; not recommended for everyday-use! I always use Brown-rice-malt (sugar made from brown-rice) for tea, pancakes, homemade ricemilk or sometimes for baking.

Maple Syrup (does also contain rapid sugars)! but is a better choice than honey! For baking I use Maple Sugar....it gives you the most wonderful tasty bakery / birthdaycakes etc

I use Stevia and love it :!: :!:

I bought Stevia seed and I'm going to try to grow the herb myself. Its a very good sweetener :!:

Heh heh - no I don't sweeten my oolong, but I like black tea slightly sweetened.

Thanks for your replies - I'll certainly choose the Stevia from now on

Sugars, sweeteners, lemon and milk do not appear to affect the antioxidant levels of Black Tea flavonoids. In fact, there are additional nutrients found in lemon and milk as well as unrefined honey.

The latest news though is that milk cuts down on the health properties of tea.
