When you boil the leaves, the liquid attains a sligh reddish tingue.

Someone else in another thread mentioning boiling green tea leaves. Are you using fresh leaves by any chance - I mean unprocessed?

No dotty,

The leaves are somewhat processed.. just like regular green tea, but the fact is that they are stronger than regular green tea leaves

Well the green tea leaves used with milk is slightly stronger than the regular green tea. When you boil the leaves, the liquid attains a sligh reddish tingue. Thus when milk is added it acquires a pleasant pink colour and is thus called pink tea.

Well does this mean that pink tea is strong in taste ? I mean like darjeeling or regular tea??

No I guess what sunshinez mean is that the leaves used to make pink tea are stronget than those for green tea.. or one can say more concentrated..

Probably it is a different kind of green tea? There are many knids grown and used widely in various regions of the world.. The one used in pink tea probably is a speciality of Kashmir?
